I have recently made homemade tortillas for the first time. I use about 2 cups of masa, 1.5 cups of warm/hot water, and a little salt. I don’t have a tortilla press, but I’m still able to press them down with the bottom of a frying pan even though they are a bit thicker and have a smaller circumference then I would like. However, my tortillas aren’t that pliable. They aren’t able to roll over without a bit of cracking. Is there a remedy for this? Also, can I safely store homemade tortillas at room temperature for a few days, or do they have to be refrigerated?
