Assist with Cheesecake : AskCulinary

Hi! I tried to bake my first cheesecake today (new to baking in general), and it turned out awful and I have no idea where I went wrong. I found a recipe and followed it exactly and the result was a yellow, gooey, cheesy-egg pudding. Thank you for any help

ETA: there was no inflating/deflating or cracks.
