The optical illusion has left netizens baffled.
The internet is fond of a good optical illusion as it takes some minute observation to figure out what exactly is happening in the picture. After the much debated white and gold dress debacle, one netizen has given people another reason to scratch their heads and figure out what is going on in the photograph.
A Twitter user named Laurel Coons, shared a photograph and asked netizens to find the curved line. The picture consists of a grid drawn on a granite-like background complete with green lines. However, at one glance, a lot of lines seem like they are curved! Don’t believe us?

Did you find the curved line? Netizens failed too. Apparently, all the lines are straight and it is just a classic example of the Cornsweet Effect. Netizens had a lot of reactions regarding the tweet and it has garnered over 1,800 likes.
For real. I searched “optical illusions” on JSTOR and lost a weekend.
This one is wild.https://t.co/qaiPgsQgbb

Eliminating high frequency ‘noise’ through filtering seems to cancel that effect. In addition, it shows the pattern that imho confounds our brain 🙂 pic.twitter.com/7NS9Hbb3xX

I don’t see a curved line. I checked each line with a straight edge. I did, however, find a pain behind my left eye. I’m going to assume the pain is from trying to focus on the pic, and not a stroke!
